Great news, Today DutchConnect volunteer Erik Spies left for Sri Lanka to work as a project manager in Baddegama. Erik planes to stay for at least six month in Sri Lanka. The building crew told us that they are looking forward to meet Erik and to work with him. Erik keeps us informed on his whereabouts at his weblog. http://ericspies.waarbenjij.nu/
Fundraising of the Dutch associated "Top bakkers" turned in to a big success.

2, 3 and fourth of march2008, DutchConnect participated in a big bakery fair in Amsterdam. During the event, the Baddegama project was promoted in the professional bakery world. Both exhibitioners and visitors express themselves enthusiastic and positively. The event is defined as ' sociably and busy 'A lot of good contacts were made and new volunteers recruited.
The two future bakery team leaders started a vocational training in Sri Lanka.
After the training that they had last year in Holland, they now can also learn some new things to the teachers.
